A grape yogurt slush is a smoothie-style drink made with yogurt as a base. At a boba shop, you’ll find that yogurt slushes come in a variety of fruits and yogurt combinations.
For our version, we decided to use fresh green grapes to add a nice fruity flavor to the drink.
We also opted for kefir instead of yakult or other yogurt because its taste is similar to that of greek yogurt, yet it is just the right thickness for a yummy slushie.
Our recipe starts by blending together frozen green grapes, sugar, and some water until it forms a smooth consistency.
Then we assemble the drink with ice, kefir, and the blended grapes. It is a simple drink yet so delicious and satisfying!
Our grape yogurt slush tastes sweet and refreshing with a pleasant tangy flavor from the kefir. The grapes balance out the yogurt with a lovely pop of fruitiness that is irresistible!
Serve it ice cold and give it a stir to combine the two layers. When you take a sip, you’ll taste a sweet symphony of grape and yogurt that will cool you down on a hot summer day!
It’s easy to make! This recipe requires only a few ingredients and only takes a few minutes to make.
If you love frozen grapes, you’ll love this drink! Frozen grapes are so delicious to snack on. Our recipe offers another way to enjoy frozen grapes! Enjoy a healthy serving of grapes than with a delicious slushy drink!
It’s healthy! Our recipe uses a minimal amount of added sugar and relies on the natural sweetness of the grapes and kefir.
Kefir is super high in probiotics that help maintain a healthy digestive system and support immune health. And grapes are chockfull of antioxidants and vitamins, making them a great addition to any diet!
You may be wondering what the difference between kefir and yakult are. While both beverages are made with fermented milk, there are actually quite a few differences between the two.
Kefir is a cultured dairy product made from fermented milk. It can be considered as a drinkable yogurt, since it has a similar taste but a thinner consistency to yogurt. It is also high in probiotics, making it a healthy and tasty beverage to drink on a regular basis. Compared to yakult, it has less added sugar and contains many more healthy bacteria.
Yakult is a special kind of fermented milk drink that is really popular especially in Asian households. It also has the familiar yogurt taste, but its consistency is closer to skim milk. Yakult contains more sugar and less bacteria strains than kefir.
In summary, kefir and yakult are similar in taste but differ in their texture and nutritional values.
We chose to use kefir in this recipe because we were aiming for a thicker slush, so kefir provided a great base for our blended grape slush!
However, yakult is definitely a great alternative and is indeed a popular ingredient at boba shops!
You can customize this yogurt slush by experimenting with the types of grape used. Red seedless grapes give our recipe a sweet and slightly tart flavor, but you could also use green seedless grapes for a more tangy flavor.
You can also substitute kefir for yakult if you prefer a thinner texture. And if you want a thicker texture, you can blend the ice with the kefir first before assembling the drink.
Don’t be afraid to adjust the sweetness to your preference! The alternative sweeteners we recommend are simple syrup and honey. However you can use whatever sweetener you prefer!
A sweet and refreshing harmony of grapes and yogurt, there’s no better way to nourish your body with beneficial probiotics and vitamins. Prepare this drink within minutes and enjoy!
