Hi Sporks, we’re Noelle & Elijah — two Filipino Americans from LA who are obsessed with good food, real stories, and the magic that happens when culture meets the kitchen.
We started this little corner of the internet because we believe food is more than what’s on the plate. It’s memory. It’s identity. It’s the thread that connects us to our roots and to each other. Whether we’re cooking at home, exploring local eats, or eating our way through a new city — food is always how we make sense of the world.
Every recipe on Fork & Spoon is made for the everyday home cook — no culinary degree required. You’ll find beloved Filipino classics like chicken adobo and sinigang alongside modern Asian fusion dishes that reflect who we actually are: kids of the diaspora, shaped by our upbringings, by LA, and by all the cultures that have influenced us along the way.
We test everything ourselves so you can trust it works. And whenever there’s a story behind a dish — a memory, a family tradition, a happy accident — we’ll share that too, because context is what turns a recipe into something meaningful.
Authentic doesn’t have to mean traditional. Diaspora cooking is innovative, personal, and just as valid as anything you’d find in a cookbook. We’re reclaiming “fusion food” — not as a trend, but as a honest reflection of living between cultures. You can honor your heritage and your own experience. Both are real. Both belong at the table.
